Execute Packet Manager

Select Synaptic Packet Manager.

Search PPTP package

Click on the Search button, and search for pptp.

Install PPTP related packages

Mark for install the following packages :

network-manager-pptp

pptp-linux

and click on Apply to install them.

Configure PPTP connection

Select Network Manager, go to VPN Connections and then Configure VPN.

As VPN Connection Type we choose Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP).

Name the new connection tuvpn.

For Shared IP VPN Service Users:  As gateway we enter the TUVPN.COM server that we want to connect.

For Dedicated IP VPN Service Users: As gateway we MUST enter the VPN Server for which we have subscribed.

User name, with our VPN user and the password fields both of which we should have received in an email with subject TUVPN.COM Service Activation.

Then click the Advanced button.

Here we make sure that all selections have been made as shown in the image.

Connect to TUVPN.COM

You should now be able to connect to TUVPN.COM using PPTP. Go to Network Manager, VPN Connections and click over tuvpn.

Just the first time that we connect we have to answer the question: Allow application access to keyring? with Always Allow.

And we are connected to TUVPN.COM via PPTP !

Confirmation of successful connection

If you wish to confirm that you really are now enjoying new freedoms, security and anonymity on the Internet, go to an IP identification site (e.g. www.whatismyipaddress.com ) where you can see that your IP is now a TUVPN server node in an entirely new location....and probably a new country!
